ANDROID
Made to resemble their creators but bound to serve them, androids operate in a number of industrial and commercial purposes from menial labor to house-keeping. Androids wrestle with the meaning of their existence and against a society that does not see them as equals or recognize their individuality. They appear more or less human-like with exposed circuitry, plated skin, glowing eyes, or any number of artificial features but androids weigh twice as much due to their mechanical components.
Playing An Android
If you choose to play an android, modify your character as follows:
- Add 1 to your Constitution ability. Subtract 1 to your Communication ability.
- Pick one of the following focuses: Constitution (Stamina) or Intelligence (Medicine).
- You are Synthetic, which means you do not eat, drink, or breathe and ignore the effects of poisons or toxins. However, you do not regain health by resting. Instead, you must have a repair kit (droid) and make an Intelligence (Engineering) test as a major action by you or someone else to regain health equal to theirs or your Stunt Die x 2 + Intelligence.
- You have a Neural Matrix, which allows you to ignore mind-affecting effects but can be sliced with Intelligence (Computer Use).
- You are Vulnerability to Ion damage, which means you treat ion damage as penetrating damage.
- Your Speed is equal to 12 + Dexterity (minus armor penalty if applicable).
- You can speak and read Binary and the Common Tongue.
- Roll twice on the Android Benefits table for additional benefits. Roll 2d6 and add the dice together. If you get the same result twice, re-roll until you get something different.

ARCHON
An ancient machine race, archons believe that synthetics are the pinnacle of life. They worship their Creators as gods and ‘ascended’ to their current state millennia ago. Although archons hope to peacefully evangelize organics, their beliefs often put them in conflict with other races. Archons are large, heavy, and roughly humanoid in shape but with a bulky armored frame.
